A poorly secured cargo box turns into a projectile the moment you brake hard or collide — a risk to you, your passengers, and everyone behind you. Before SKiiBOX reached the market, it was independently crash tested by VTI, Sweden's national road and transport research institute, against two separate collision benchmarks. Both runs are published below — the footage, and the numbers exactly as VTI measured them.
There is no separate standard for cargo boxes carried on a tow bar. So the thresholds from SS-ISO 11154:2023 — written for roof racks — were used instead. The question is simple: in a hard stop or a low-speed crash, does the box hold its load instead of dropping it on the road? It was tested at full load.

Official VTI acceleration pulse — Test I20260827-1
A much harder test. It uses the same impact force applied when testing the seat belts and child seats that protect people inside the car. SKiiBOX came through it with nothing coming loose.

Both results were independently measured and documented by VTI on 2026-08-27, under the lab conditions specified above.
